The aftermath of the Occupy movement.

It's been 5 years since the occupation of Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan. Now is the time to look back and see where we are. While the Occupy movement is no longer on the evening news their influence still felt. Were once no one was talking about income inequality now it is a subject that is often discussed in most political debets. The mainstream media, which is owned by the very people who benefit from the status quo find that they can no longer avoid the subject. But make no mistake this is a subject they very much want to go away.

2016 is a presidential election year and some of the issues that the Occupy movement spoke about have become issues in the election, at least among the Democratic candidates. The Republicans, who are, heart and soul, the party of the wealthy, the privileged and the corporations, have made only passing reference to the subject and only attack each other and the Democrats.
